Organizational Mission & Values
Our Mission is to collect the stories of helping professionals:
- To ensure our helpers truly feel seen, heard, and valued… that their story matters!
- To better understand the burnout and attrition crisis within our community
- To find the “bright spots”, those organizations doing it differently, better, & learn from them
- And collaborate with artists to tell these stories publicly to spark conversation and inspire redesign of our helping fields
Our Values:
- Connection First
- Community: Every person feels seen, heard and valued- employees, volunteers, participants, artists and all other stakeholders involved in the project and organization.
- Equitable value in contribution of all roles
- Highest paid full-time employee cannot make more than 5x that of the lowest full-time paid employee
- Diversity & Inclusion Matter
- We are committed to creating a diverse team and ensuring our story collection is a representative sample of the St. Louis metropolitan area
- Equitable value in contribution of all roles
- Gratitude: What we focus on grows. We all show up as our better selves when we feel appreciated.
- Listening: Here, we listen with presence, compassion and non-judgement because everyone and their story matters.
- Community: Every person feels seen, heard and valued- employees, volunteers, participants, artists and all other stakeholders involved in the project and organization.
- Perspective of Possibility
- Optimistic that solutions to the most intractable problems are possible
- There is always enough- time, money, resources, energy, support
- Creative Disruption & Development
- No attempts to solve the problems we face have been successful and so every approach must be intentionally outside the box
- Our approach must come from an attitude of build rather than destroy
- Personal Responsibility
- Integrity:
- Taking responsibility for our part good or bad
- Making repairs when there are ruptures
- Set and maintain boundaries when needed to care for yourself and respect the boundaries of others
- Commitment to cultivating growing self-awareness
- Patience & Flexibility, especially when unexpected obstacles pop up
- Be clear, kind and direct in communication and have hard conversations
- Integrity:
Commitment Statement of Plenty & Universal Support
We will not perpetuate the scarcity mindset. We are creating a new model of plenty!
We are committed to the belief that there is enough time, support, money, and energy no matter how big or small the task. We have access to infinite creative potential and can trust that if it seems like there isn’t enough, that plenty will reveal itself in the right time. It is only our responsibility to show up with:
- Connection to the Universe and our mission
- Belief in plenty
- Clarity of the next step
- Courage in our action
- Trust in the process
